SGI-Malaysia youth

In Malaysia, Soka Gakkai Malaysia (SGM) youth members are actively engaging in social activities and making efforts to develop understanding the SGI and its activities founded on a humanistic philosophy of Nichiren Buddhism. In response to the great Sumatra earthquake and tsunami in December 2004, SGM members in Kuala Lumpur and four other regions have made donations, while members in Selangor have joined with the Malaysian Red Crescent Society to collect food, mineral water and blankets for victims. Since March, SGM youth have been hosting weekly seminars throughout the country, and participants developed friendships through dialogue. To commemorate May 3, Soka Gakkai Day, Tan Boon See was newly appointed as SGM young women's division chief.
